"loyal to Westin" I stayed here on a business trip in late June, I come here often and have been at the Westin during most of the renovations. The renovations have turned out great. The lobby is more up to date and modern probably the most modern i have stayed at in Calgary. I was upgraded to a business room which is in the tower, I highly recomend booking a room in the tower they are more expensive but include extra things are more spacious and recently renovated. The staff was great i got lost on the way to my room and a door man escorted me to my room after wandering to the wrong tower. The Essence resturant is great i loved the buffet i was in and out in less than 30 min, the staff was attentive and quick which is good if you are a business person and have meetings. They have a starbucks in the hotel now and it should be up and running for my next trip out there! it is a great location right downtown, and i love teh direction this hotel is going in. And the good news is i never had a bug bites! in fact the cleanliness was impeccable.

"Modern Luxury at the Westin" My fiance and I just spent two nights at the Westin Calgary. We stayed in a traditional room with two double beds since the more luxurious rooms were sold out. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were worried because construction in going on next door. We asked for a quiet room the furthest away from construction and were give just that. We never heard the construction the entire time there which was a relief. The room was definitely on the smaller side, but tastefully decorated and well equipped with wireless internet, starbucks coffee and soft egyptian cotton sheets. We had no tub, just a shower but we didn't mind. The hotel has undergone renovations recently and the lobby is gorgeous! Very modern with high ceilings and fabulous furniture to lounge on. Everyone working in the hotel seems very friendly and eager to please. The hotel is right downtown and very close to shopping and restaurants. Or you can just order room service which is a delicious surprise! Try the brick oven thin crust pizza with parmesan, artichokes and argula and end with the banana layer cake with dark chocolate chips! For the health conscious, a pool and a 24 hour gym are available. The room service menu has great food options to choose from like the egg white omelette with broccoli or the mango soy shake, plenty of salads and grilled options too. Overall, I was impressed with the Westin Calgary. Next time, I would love to stay in one of the more modern rooms with a king sized bed. However, great food, great service and the comfortable room were well enjoyed during our stay!

"One of Calgary's Best" My partner and I decided to crash here for an evening prior to her departure to the UK. It was one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed at in my life. Desk staff were fantastic and helpful. Our tower room was recently renovated, spacy, and bloody comfortable. The heavenly bed is brillaint, I am going to stay at the Westin Vegas simply due to the heavenly bed. The rooftop pool/wirlpool and workout area is really great too. Best of all, it's open 24 hours! Very useful when you're with your lover or just really loaded (or both, heh). Just a heads up; the pool can only be accessed through the tower, so if you have a regular room, you'd have to go down through the lobby then to the top of the tower. Minor thing really. Rates were cheap, even when booked directly through the website. I highly reccomend this hotel to anyone visiting Calgary.

"A fantastic hotel in every sense-stay there!" I have stayed at the Calgary Westin on several occaisions. Everytime it has been after a flight from the UK. The satff are fanastic, extremely efficient and friendly. I am a member of the starwoods preferred guest program so get book club rooms in the tower. You get many benefits with SPG like express check -in etc which is lways nice but even without that you can not fault the staff. One of their big marketing points is the Heavenly bed and although it may sound a funny or strange selling point, anyone who has had the pleasure of sleeping in one will know it isnt, it is enough to make you go back by itself, especially after a long flight. The room service is also very good and reasonably priced, i thoroughly recommend the nachos and fruit pie!!! Without doubt you will want to go back over and over again and will rate other hotels against it!

"Another good stay at the Westin ..." We stayed at the Westin Calgary between October 22, 2004 and October 27, 2004 for a conference that was being held at the Telus Convention Center. The Westin was excellent and in keeping with other Westin's that we have stayed at over the past couple of years. The room we stayed was a deluxe room and was equipped with all the necessary heavenly amenities. The Westin itself was reasonably well-situated (about a 10 minute walk from the convention center and from the mall and only a few minutes from the Eau Claire Market). All in all, it is an excellent hotel and well worth it.

"First Rate Service" I stayed at the Westin for 4 nights in September, and it was an enjoyable experience. The check-in was quick and painless, with very pleasant front desk staff. My room was in the original (?) buildling facing 4th Ave. and it's quite a bit smaller than rooms in the tower, but I was by myself with very little luggage so I didn't mind at all. The bathroom was, again, small (with the toilet a tad too close to the shower stall), but it's spotless and clean with plenty of towels and accessories. The much-touted "Heavenly Bed" was indeed heavenly, although I'm not sure why anyone would need 7 different pillows and cushions on a double bed. During my stay I made daily use of the 24 hour rooftop gym, and it's quite adequate. The hotel is also at a good location (connected to the Plus 15 walkway), with the Eau Claire market and the beautiful Bow River trail right behind it. In the end what I appreciated the most was the staff - everyone from the front desk clerk to the porters was unfailingly polite and helpful. I certainly wouldn't mind staying at the Westin again the next time I'm in town. P.S. I forgot to tell the staff I am a Starwood member when I was there. I called a week afterwards and they credited my account immediately. Excellent.
