A pleasant day can be spent at Epping Forest which is accessible by public transport. As the Forest covers more than 12 miles there are a number of stations and bus stops that you will be able to use depending on which part of Epping Forest you wish to visit. Queen Elizabeths hunting Lodge for example is a 10 minute walk from Chingford station and is open year round.
