"Great!"
I am a frequent traveller to resort destinations as part of my job and I have to say that I think Canmore, AB is one of the most majestic and breath taking places I have been! We stayed at the Windtower Lodge in a king suite and it was exceptional. The property is surrounded by huge rocky mountains and is also brand new and immaculately maintained. Every morning we sat out on our large deck and enjoyed the fresh mountain air with a delicious breakfast compliments of the hotel. I would definately recomend this hotel to traveller's and believe me after seeing what else Canmore has to offer, this place is by far the best. JR Oostenbrink. P.S. Freindly staff. |

"AHHHMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The physical appearance of the hotel says it all - mature, beautiful, quiet, elegant yet affordable!!!!!!!
We stayed for 2 nights over the New Year 2004/2005. After reading many reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. All I can say is wow!!! They really put some thought into the decor of the rooms and it shows. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it felt like home. It was totally stocked with dishes, utensils etc... The bed was awesome, we slept like babies!! I can't say enough about the staff!! They went above their call of duty to accomodate us. The restaurant staff are excellent, they treat you like gold, and the food is awesome!! We had one issue when we were checking out with the bill and the manager took care of it and gave us an extra $100 off.
Yes the fireplace isn't real, but who cares - it looks like fire and it gives off heat so what else do you need!!!
Yes the regular hotel rooms are small, but with the price being so reasonable why not book a suite!!
We will definately return!!! |

"Excellent!!!!!!!"
This hotel had everything you could want, we only stayed 3 nights but you could easily live here for months. They had thought of everything. Even a rubber duck in the bath to take home with you.
My wife found the pillows a bit to hard.
It was a bit disappointing that the view from the front of the hotel was spoilt by the building of a new hotel, but to be fair it was very quite and didn't affect us.
Breakfast was really good with a hot buffet and cereal, fruit etc. |

"Great bargain!!"
Wow,, I just came back from Banff, and I couldn't wait to write how great this hotel is. The breakfast buffet was awesome! Everyone was super nice and the rooms were spotless clean. We got 2 rooms - both of which were one bedroom suite - and both had excellent kitchen and fireplace. We joked that we could actually live here, not just stay a few nights. The price was great, too. Only about 150 U.S. dollars per night to stay in the suite. The reason for such a bargain (during the peak season) is because Canmore is outside the Banff National Park. But Canmore itself was a great sight to see. We were very glad that we stayed in Canmore and see how beautiful the surrounding mountains were. From Calgary Airport, Canmore is also closer than Banff township. Canmore has everything you need - gas stations, fast foods, Chinese, Korean restaurants, and even a car dealership.
This lodge is an excellent value, and I would recommend it to everyone, including my parents and everyone close to me. There is also a spa and hot springs right next to the lodge. I didn't have time to check it out, but it looked very fansy and nice. All rooms at the lodge have private decks, so it was nice to sit outside during the night and enjoy a few beer together in cool summer breeze. |

"Extremely pleasant"
Quite a nice place. The location is fine for visiting Banff national Park, of course, but Canmore by itself is a pleasant place to stay for a couple of days. Make sure to ask for the right side of the building: you'll be in a quiet situation, with a lovely view of the "Three sisters mountains". You'll feel most welcomed as soon as you check in (either in french or in english...). Fine rooms, big enough and with all the amenities as we got upgraded without asking to a room with kitchen. Everything is well maintained. Complimentary hot and tasty breakfast - nothing to compare with the typical chain hotels kind: lovely buffet, fresh products, hot food prepared continuously. One of my best stays in a 6 weeks vacation in the Rockies. |

"Great Value"
I stayed at the Windtower for 3 nights at the end of September and my overall impression was that, for the money it was a great value.
The staff was very helpful, I requested a room with a view, and was given a south facing room looking out to the Three Sisters and Nakoda. This view alone made it worth the stay. The breakfast buffet was great, and the wireless internet access was always available.
The only downside was that the bedroom in the suite next to me must have been on the other side of the wall next to my bed, because I could faintly hear someone with a major snoring problem through the wall. I think it was actually more funny than anything, just thinking about the people in that suite that had to put up with it directly..
I would definately stay at the Windtower again and would recommend it to anybody considering staying in the Banff/Canmore area.. |
